Teacher Appreciation Week

This month we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week (May 8 – May 12). It was a week filled with gratitude and recognition for our exceptional teachers, thanks to the efforts of our Teacher Appreciation Week Parent Planning Committee.

Divided into two teams, one for the Jamaica Plain Center and one for the South End Centers, the Committee worked diligently to plan a memorable week for our teachers.

The festivities began with a delightful breakfast on Monday, followed by afternoon snacks on Tuesday. Wednesday brought a special treat as local bakeries Billy's and Evergreen opened their doors to our teachers to enjoy their favorite treats. Thursday was made even better with pizza, mocktails, and ice cream gifted by the South End Neighborhood Association. On Friday, teachers enjoyed delicious cake and received a commemorative t-shirt, recognizing them as the superheroes they are. As a grand finale to the week, for the first time we hosted a Teacher Appreciation party on Friday evening, bringing everyone together for a night of dancing and celebration.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Teacher Appreciation Week Planning Committee for their hard work in organizing the week's activities. Their dedication ensured that our teachers felt valued and cherished. We also want to thank all who supported the festivities through fundraising and contributions.

Teacher Appreciation Week may be over, but showing our appreciation shouldn’t be seasonal. Our teachers play a vital role in shaping the future of our children, and their dedication deserves our ongoing support.
